Experiments in our VR Studio
Modern technologies such as smartphones have become an integral part of our daily lives. But how do they influence social interactions, and what impact does this have on interpersonal relationships and our well-being? We investigate these and related questions in a series of VR-based experiments. To better understand the effects of modern technologies, our research draws on different (social) psychological theories.
To investigate these questions under standardized and controlled conditions, we use virtual reality (VR). Participants immerse themselves in a virtual environment and interact with a virtual person. This allows us to recreate social interactions in a realistic setting while studying them under controlled experimental conditions. One VR study has already been successfully completed, and another study is currently underway.
